12 yr 8 mo old male Beagle with Spasms

Question
Hi! My Beagle has had a Parathyroidectomy done 3 weeks ago for an elevated calcium level (14.4) which is now down to 10.5! He had some spasms and twitching before the surgery but 3 days afterwards he started having these almost seizure like attacks where his whole body is spasming. No vomiting or diarreah, eats fine. The vet put him on Prednisone 10mg a day. He is responding fine to it, except that I don't like the panting, fast breathing and all the other nasty side effets at all. I have read about SystemSaver for dogs. It is an alternative to Steoroids. Do you have any other recommendations?  He is fine otherwise.
Please advise. Thank you so much in advance!

Answer
Hi Beatrix - I see he is on the Prednisone 10 mg per day.  I would keep him on this a little bit.  You can try the System starter, I did look at the ingredients list / Looks good / Just don't want you to take him off the Prednisone too quickly...  Not sure it will work.
Here is the link I found on the product:
I am not suggesting your purchase this - your choice ...
I don't feel it would hurt at all...( all Natural)

Let me know if you decide to get the System Starter..

I can suggest NuVET Plus for your beagle kid.  NuVET is an immune system booster that will help the whole body and hormones.
NuVET will keep your pal healthy and fight off the side effects of Prednisone.  Here is the link for NuVET Plus -
It is not sold in stores ....Please use this breeder code - 81098
NuVET  is sold by breeders and vet offices

I would place him on 2 NuVET wafers per day. AFTER 30 days he could go down to 1 per day.  ( it will cost you about .55 cents per day)

1-800-474-7044 ext 265  ( Joan at NuVET )  - guaranteed or your money back.

Let me know what you decide to do...I hope he gets under control soon!
