kittens with URI

Question
QUESTION: I have decided to take on 2 12-13week old kittens that have a URI and wheeze constantly with fluid in thier lungs. I don't know exactly how they got it but apparently the lady they were rescued from didn't know too much about the particular breed, they are hairless cats, or, sphynx.
I need to know what foods will help and hurt thier upper respiratory infection and what kind of natural vitamins or anything that will help them get over this. They are apparently not contageous anymore because the lady I am getting them from has 6 other cats, hairless and with hair and they haven't gotten it.
Please let me know what I need to do to help these poor babies.
Also, I have ordered 2 natural medications called Sinu-Rite and Respo-K, have you ever heard of these,if so, are they any good?
Thanks so much for any help you can give me!

ANSWER: Addition to the answer -

Hi again:

The NuVET supplement averages about .55 cents per pet.

YOUR babies need only "1/2 " a dose for the first month and then they can go up to the full dosage.  A full dosage costs about .55 cents per cat or dog...
We have cat formula and dog formulas.

Also, when you go on Auto Ship - they will give you 15 % off each order.  YOU can cancel autoship at any time.

Hi Lauren - Boy, how nice of you to take on the babies!!!  You are such a good person.
As for feeding the little ones - make sure they get plenty of Quality Wet canned cat food ... They need x-tra fluids right now with the URI they seem to have.
Make sure you are feeding a quality and holistic food, if possible.
Dry kibble with some wet on top.  Wellness, Solid Gold and Innova are very good kitten foods.

The holistic meds sound great and I have heard of the ones you mentioned.  I would like to add one supplement and one oil to your list of To Do -
The oil is PURE Salmon oil - bottle of ? 12 oz is about 10.00 .....good stuff - give them 1 teaspoon per cat per day - mixed into the food.
***great for the skin, coat, and joints...

Next -Please order some NuVET Feline Formula - this is a powder you will mix into the food 1 x per day - This is what they need - An IMMUNE system Booster.... Get them off to the right start with this..
All Natural and Safe - 60 day MONEY back guaranteed.
Call Now - This is the Manufacturer - tell them Marie sent you and I am your cat's nutritional specialist. Give them my name and order code 81098.  They can't sell to the public without this ordering code.
1-800-474-7044  ( they are open 8-4 Cal time zone) M-F
*** they will get this out to you ASAP, so call now***

Oh, it will cost you about .55 cents per day - ( they will be on a 1/2 dosage for a month ( only .25 cents per day) and will work up to a full dosage once they are a little larger in weight.
LOW cost and KEEPS the vet away.

If you end up needing something for cough - I can give you the dosage for Robitussin.
YOU want to give the Sinu-Rite and Respo - K a chance to work..

OK???
I sure hope I helped you ...Sounds like you have done some research already...

Thanks and let me know how they are in a few weeks.
Good luck to you...

QUESTION: Hi, just updating you on the kittens.
The female actually broke her leg jumping off of something so, she had to have pins put in her leg and is on antibiotics so make sure the wound doesn't get infected so, we will not be able to start her on anything until after the antibiotics are overwith and she is still with the breeder right now.
The boy is doing wonderful... I have not started him on the vitamins because he too is on antibiots for the URI but, I did switch his food to a brand called By Nature and it does not have corn, soy or wheat and he seems to be alot better since that switch so, I think it was mainly allergies mixed with the URI so, peoples may want to try that if something allergie related does not go away.
Thanks for your help! :)

Answer
Oh, so sorry about the broken leg!!  How awful... and boy that must of cost a good amount of $$$ to repair.???

Thanks for the food info - great....

You know the vitamins won't hurt them and they can take it when on antibiotic therapy...
Vitamins can be taken with antibiotics without problems.

Talk to your vet about it ...OK?

BEST wishes and Thanks for the update!
