Green eye discharge american bullie ;

My American Bulldog, Teddy, has developed in the last few days, a green eye discharge from his left eye only. Teddy was rescued from a shelter and had worms and kennel cough that have both been treated. He also seems to scratch alot, but not as much as when he first came to live with me.  He is 10 months old, and weighs about 60 pounds. He is on Bil-Jac puppy food. I read to treat it with a boric acid and water mix. Do you agree? And do you have any other suggestions?

HOW is Teddy now?  Did the eye wash help at all?

Hi Jim and Teddy,  the eye discharge may need Vet treatment and antibiotic.  We can first try a Normal Saline eye wash for 3 days.  If that doesn't work, you need to see the vet because it may be conjunctivitis infection.
NS eye wash is in the local store - in the eye care section for humans.  
It is just the sterile normal saline eye wash with nothing else added.
Squirt this into his eye 2-3 x per day.  AGAIN, he may need to see the vet.
