6 month indoor kitten in first heat - when to spay?

11:54:10

Question
I recently found a posting on allexperts.com regarding cats in heat.  Our kitten just went into heat - her appt for spaying was next week - and we have heard it is best to wait until after the heat to spay her. Is this true or should we bring her in right away?  she just started her heat this evening.
If it is best to wait until after her heat, how will we know when this is?  I don't want to cause any "damage" by spaying her while her hormones are all active.  She is an indoor cat so we are monitoring her.  We love her and want to do what is best for her.  So far she is not meowing loudly, just chirping and being cuter than her usual adorable self.

Also, we recently adopted shelter kitties - a neutered male and female - will this affect them?  Also, the male seems to have colitis.  I am feeding them a raw cat food diet, a combo of commercial raw and home made.  Any advice on remedies that could help him heal his tummy?  Or diets?   Him and his adopted sister have been through a lot in their short four months on earth.  Their immune systems have taken a beating.

Thanks for your help, or any link you can send me to.

Answer
Hi Guys --- Let this kitten finish her heat and get the spay done... Don't worry, just wait about 20 more days and then Operation time.
As for the boy with loose stool.  Yes, his immune system may be very weak.  Make sure you have your Vet do a stool test for parasites... JUST to make sure.
Also, our clinic uses NuVET feline on many of the cat kids....JUST add 1 teaspoon to his food only 1 x per day....GREAT product!

CALL in the order and give my order code for 15% off on all Call-ins - ask for the auto ship program.  1-800-474-7044
The 60 count bottle is only 39.00 per month.  Will last you 2 months for this boy ,or 1 month for the 2 cats.
NuVET helps to Rebuild the immune system and helps with loose stools and Digeston.

BEST wishes.... Check out SoJos for your cats/ YOU add the meat...
