Question
My question is about my 19 year old Shitzu who has had a cyst on her face that is growing and weeping a terrible wet smell.  I have been cleaning it with peroxide since I discovered it and bathing her, irrigating with water once a week.  I have not contacted the vet due to her age and the chance the cyst won't clear up and eventually I will have to put her down.  She does not complain and when I massage it during her bath I feel she actually feels good about it.  So I rule out that it's painful.  I have read holistic ways, I can give her the herb tumeric and irrigate with witch hazel.  I have not found any witch hazel with less that 12% alcohol and I don't want to give her any discomfort.  I hope you can advise me other than to see a vet, because I know it would be easier just to put down this old girl than go through expensive treatment.  Thank you in advance.

Answer
Wow!  19 years young...  I understand you don't want to seek out a Vet at this time.
How about some Colloidal Silver gel?  Go to your local Health or Vitamin store.
If they don't have the gel you can still buy the liquid and use a cotton ball.
Don't do Peroxide as it's too drying. Just use some Hibicleans liquid for cleaning the area.

If she does appear in any pain, in the future, please seek out a Vet's opinion.

Blessings to you!
