Question
Hi Karen,
Well i hope the angel gets its fins back to normal as he is a real beauty. And you know what? My local aquarist(Mr.N.Anand, Pet N fish) has been going through some trouble with finance because he has not paid his property tax for 3 years so he(to somewhat raise funds ofcourse)conducted a fish contest. There were 3 contests-
1)best goldfish pair
2)best gaurami pair
3)best cat fish pair

And guess what? I won the contest for the best goldfish pair. ( My huge ryukins)
The prize was a set of assorted food!!! (not very great but)

Coming back to dogs....I am in a really confused state you see...my grandparents are very orthodox and dont like having pets in the house, but i am very very very clear on getting that dog if it is the last thing i do(hee hee hee). But i dont know what breed to buy. I can only buy the breeds below as they are WALLET FRIENDLY (MY WALLET)
Labrador
Golden Retriever
Lhasa Apso
Pomeranian
Indian Boar Hound
Mongrels (free ofcourse)
Cocker Spaniel

Every person i have asked tells me to go for the Lab or Lhasa Apso. Lab because it is very friendly, Apso because it travels very easily (I only have a mid sized car). Please tell me the best option!! I am planning to bring the pup to my house in a very secret manner.....with the help of some of my buddies! I ll tell that later.

Is there any  fish food that can be in my house?(vegetarian food)

.....Srinivas
I have fully recovered from chicken pox

Answer
Hi Srinivas! That's so good to hear you have recovered from Chicken pox! I bet that's a relief to you! :-)

~Wow! Congrats on your win! That is really cool that you won that contest for best goldfish pair! Hey, at least you won't have to buy food for awhile!

~About dogs~
Well I think it's best you get a small, quite, and clean breed of dog for your situation...On your list probably the one that matches that description the best is the Lhasa Apso, according from my search on this breed they are excellent for apartment living, have an low indoor energy level, are loyal to their owner, and only shed a little. You will have to groom them everyday though and they may bark a little because they are decent watchdogs. Pomeranians are a good breed of dog, about the same with the Apso's except they have a high indoor energy level and may be a bit stubborn. And of course Labs and golden retrievers make excellent dogs but they are large and have high energy levels especially as puppies. They need a good amount of training and patience to get through the puppy period and adolescents. Indian boarhounds are said to be good family dogs but I can't find anymore info on them...Mongrels or crossbreeds I prefer to call them respectively, can make one of the best dogs to have.

I can't really decide for you because only you know what breed or mix is best. But you should opt for a dog that is has an low energy level, is a clean dog, and doesn't yap too much. Shih-Tzus (pronounced Shih-zoos) are great dogs if you can find and afford one! They don't yap like many small breeds, are calm and very affectionate, and get along with everybody. Think of what dog breed and personality would work best with your house and lifestyle. That would help a lot.

Do you mean vegetarian food you don't have to slice up for fish?~ There are vegetarian or algae based flake food for fish, Algae wafers, Sometimes you can even buy seaweed for your saltwater fish... just to name some to mind.

Well, email me back on whatever you decide on dogs and anything else you have on your mind on pets and stuff~ I think the Lhasa Apso is the best choice in my opinion!

Wishing you the very best!
Take care and happy fishkeeping!
Karen~
