Question
Hi, Hope You Can Help..I Have A 55 Gallon Tank With 1 Oscar (5 Inch) And 1 Pleco (6 Inch).. A Few Ornaments/Faux Plants And Gravel.. I've Recently Noticed The Water Getting Murky.. I'm Guilty Of Overfeeding BUT THATS STOPPED NOW !! I Limit To Twice A Day !!.. I Have Double The Filtration Required For My Tank.. And My Water Lvls Are Great.. I Do Weekly 20% Water Changes.. But I Can't Use My Gravel Vacuum Coz I Have A Very Aggressive Oscar Which Will Attack My Arm When I Put It In The Water Lol ... Will The Weekly Water Changes Alone Be Enough To Clear The Cloudiness..Now That I'm Not Overfeeding Anymore?Or Do I Have To Vacuum? Hope You Can Help Thanks..

Answer
Wow! your oscar attacks your arm when you try to do gravel vac thats weird. I'm sorry but you have to do gravel changes or else all the water parameters will go crazy and kill your fish. What you could do is either
A) Get a longer gravel vac at your petstore
B) Grab the tube that comes out of the part that goes in the gravel and try it that way.

The reason you have to do gravel changes is because their will be rotting food and waste that will cause ammonia and nitrite levels to go really high.
