Question regarding fresh water fish

Does anyone know what the whitish free swimming thread like worms in my tank are.  I have a 10 gal they hang around the rim of the tank and occasionally swim in the water.

The worms could be ring worms, tape worms, mosquito larva, anchor worms that detached from the fish, or any number of parasites. if your fish are not eating them, they're most likely a parasite and need to be removed quickly. Because you dont have a specific description or picture, i can't pin point what it is, but my guess is mosquito or tape worms. Net them, put them in a sealed zip lock bag, and take them out to a big dumpster or a trash can on the street, dont leave them in your house.
