QuestionHi David, I have two gold Inca snails. Their shell is becoming thinner after the outer layer chipped off, but the shells still attach. At first, I fed them some crushed egg shell to get some calcium, but it is not helping at all. I have an two and a half gallon tank, 2 Albino Corydoras Catfishes, and a Betta.
AnswerHi George: add some coral sand or gravel to your tank.... It takes a while for snails to rebuild their shells especially after a nutritional deficit. Do not add more then a pound of coral gravel as it will affect your pH. You will also need to find your snails a varied diet that has calcium in it... check with your local pet store and see ... sometimes they have snail treats... dave
