Followup To 110 gallon fish tank filtration
i was wondering if 2 fluval 204's will work for a 110 gallon fish tank or 2 emperor 400's the tank is going to be home to a 11'' tiger oscar and a 14'' albino oscar the tank measures 4' long by 18'' wide by 30'' tall the 11'' tiger oscar only eats live and the 14'' albino only eats pellets they will be the  only two in the tank  im going to use the 90 lbs of gravel from my 75 gallon and 1/2 of the water to help cycle the tank but my only problem is that the 110 was used as a reef tank for 2 years so im going to have to rince the tank with hot water and a new tank scruber thanks from me tim
Question -
hi i was told by an expert with the right filtration i can have 2 10'' oscars in my 75 gallon tank but... i have 2 emperor 400's is this enough cause my buddies 100 gallon tank broke and i now have his o in my extra 29 gallon and planning  keeping him so thats my question fo you thanks from me         TIM

Answer -
That should be enough to ensure that it is simply monitor your water quality by testing your water frequently. Live or prepackaged food also plays a role in keeping these oscar's in your tank. The water quality monitoring is a simple task, most large retail pet stores that carry fish provide this service free of charge, testing kits are also available for purchase for reasonable prices. If you choose to purchase your own make sure it includes tests for ammonia, nitrate, nitrite and high/low pH. Happy fish keeping!!!

Answer
A 29 gallon is a small tank for an Oscar unless he is little yet. Or are you keeping other fish in the 29 gallon? It's hard to say if your current filtration system will be adequate. The best thing you can do is monitor the water quality with ths fish, if your water quality begins to go down that is a excellent indicator your filtration can not keep up. Are you going to move this newly aquired fish into the 75 gallon? If you do move around the decoration in the tank so the fish have to restablish territories in the tank. I need some more information to help you better. Hopefully I am going in the right direction for you. Happy fish keeping!!!
