bubbles in the tank

Question
I took my son to a little carnival the other day and won this goldfish. I only did it because I really thought I would never make the ball in the bowl. opps! well they gave it to me in this little square carrier. So I have bought food and I just cleaned the tank. I don't know much about goldfish but did a little research because I want to have this fish healthy as I can. I just changed the water and added a water conditioner but since the carrier is so small I only added on drop. I noticed little bubbles on the tank and on the accessories. I want to know is this normal? or did I not put enough drops? And yes I am planning to buy a starter kit aquarium.

Answer
Cynthia,

The little bubbles can just be from adding the water. If so they will go away in the next day or 2. When you get the starter kit make sure it is noting less that a 10 gallon. I usually say one goldfish needs to be in a 20 gallon tank but I am thinking the fish is very small at the moment. If you intend on keeping goldfish then I suggest a much larger tank. The rule of fin it bigger is always better than smaller. Goldfish are very messy and since they don't have a stomach, everything they eat comes right back out as waste which then very quickly changes to ammonia. It is very important that they have a filter as well. If after the nest day ot so the bubbles have not gone away let me know.
