Question
I have a 10 gallon tank that I have recently set up..All the levels of ph, Nitrate, Nitrite are good.. I just want to add some more color to my tank.. I had a 30 gallon tank for about 14 yrs..But only had guppies,Tetra,Silver dollars in it..The fish I have in the 10 gallon tank are:
1 Albino Pleco
1 Large Pleco
2 Black tetras
2 Flame tetras
1 Mixed fruit tetra
1 peacock eel
Please tell me if there is any other fish that I could put with these that would add some color to the tank Thanks.

Answer
Hi,
10 Gallons is very small, and with the amount of fish you have, it is already very overstocked.
Albino Plecs need about 40 Gallons, as do most other plecs. I recommend you rehome them as they will be unhappy in your tank, and will soon die.
Black Tetras do not exist. Do you mean Black Widow Tetras, or Black Phantom Tetras. Could you please send me a photo? (You can upload photos on photobucket.com).
Fruit Tetras are dyed, which causes them severe pain, and 90 percent of them die within 3 months. Of course it is not your fault, but you should either take them back to the fish shop, or try to take as best care of it as you can.
Peacock eels grow to 12 inches in length, so will very soon need a far bigger tank.

You should either rehome both the Plecos and the eel, or buy a 40 Gallon tank minimum.

For the 10 Gallon, you could have:
3 Black Tetras (1 more)
3 Flame Tetras (1 more)
1 "Fruit" Tetra (do not buy any more)
1 Dwarf Gourami (10 Gallons is the absolute minimum for gouramis though).

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Best of luck,
Kathryn
