Question
Is hot melt glue (like from a hot glue gun) safe to use in a freshwater tank?  I have little plastic plants that I want to glue to river rock to weight them down.  Thanks for taking the time to read and answer my question!

Answer
Hello,

I would recommend using nothing but silicone to  seal/glue anything in your aquarium. With any other glue there is always a chance that it could erode/dissolve into the water and poison your fish.

Silicone can be bought at most hardware stores. When glueing something with silicone, let it cure for a week before putting it in your aquarium.

I hope this helps. :)

Stephanie
