Question
I got a 10 gallon aquarium and my fish died one of them had a fish lice I cleaned out the aquarium and was wondering should i clean it with something else to make sure that their are no more parasites in the tank. I guess i just want to make sure that once i put more fishes in their they wont get the same thing as the other did. Can you say what is the best fish for a 10 gallon tank? that does not require that much care?

Answer
Hello,

You should clean out your tank as normal with warm water, but never use any chemicals or soap because once you refill your aquarium this can cause problems for your fish.

Tetras, barbs and catfish are all good for smaller aquariums. I can't really say that they don't require much care, because all fish pretty well need care. If you want to stick to the basics of fish care, then just make sure you keep the aquarium clean, change the water weekly, syphon the gravel weekly and feed your fish daily. As well, change your filter media every month or so.

I hope this helps.
