Fish compatability in my tank

Question
Hi. I have a freshwater tank that has been set up for about 2 or 3 months. I am slowly adding new fish to it. Currently I have 2 albino African clawed frogs, 2 penguin tetras, and a algae eater ( unfortunately I'm not sure what kind he is). I guess my question is, are they all going to live in Harmony? My pet store told me to feed all of them tropical flakes, but as I have researched on the Internet I have found that many people suggest feeding the frogs and the tetras brine shrimp. Would that be a problem for the algae eater? I started researching because one of my frogs is growing and the other isn't and I never see him eat, so I was beginning to worry that the fish were gobbling it all up before the frogs had a chance to find it on the bottom of the tank. Also, do you have any other recommendations on what I should be doing? I just found out that the penguin tetra like to live in larger groups, so I considered buying 3 more. Is a ten gallon talk big enough for all of this? The tank is heated, it has gravel bottom and ornamental decorations. Thanks in advance for any input you may be able to give.

Answer
Hi Erica,

Unfortunately a 10 gallon tank is very limiting in what it can hold.  I wouldn't recommend getting any other fish for your tank.

As for feeding you are right that the clawed frog should be fed some meaty foods.

I recommend a staple diet of flakes and then feeding brine every 2 -3 days.

Your algae eater really should be given veggies to eat, either in the form of fresh veggies (spinach, cucumber, romaine, peas) or algae wafers. The best way to do this is to feed about 30 minutes after you turn the lights out to give the nocturnal algae eater a fair chance to eat.

I recommend stopping by the forums at http://www.aquaria.info/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewforum&f=71 for more information.
