Uneven bio wheel rotation

I have a Marineland tank (eclipse 2 - 27 gallons).  My bio wheel has started to rotate unevenly - what is the cause and should I be concerned.  It never really stops - just turns unevenly.

My Marineland Bio-Wheel filters have plastic holders that the bio wheels sit in. These come out for cleaning purposes. Make sure the plastic holders are snapped in place. If they aren't snug, the bio wheel will fit crooked.
