Question
I just got 2 kissing fish nethier of them will move. what can i do to make them happy?

Answer
Hi Haley,
Hmm... what is their tank situation like?

How long has the tank been setup?
Are they the only fish right now?
Can you test your water?
Do they have hiding places?

If you are unsure about anything just let me know.

A lot of times fish will be a bit fearful and stressed when added to your aquarium and they take several days to get accustomed to the environment. However, there could be a more serious problem on our hands where if the tank hasn't been setup very long, they may be suffering from pollution. This is because beneficial bacteria have not yet had enough time to establish to convert dangerous ammonia (produced by the fish) over to a harmless chemical called "nitrate". They need time to establish, at least 4-6 weeks, and during that time ammonia can spike and cause great danger to your fish unless you stay on top of testing for it and doing 30-50% water changes when the level gets too high or the fish seem stressed.
This procedure would have to go on until the tank is fully established.

*Note on water changes. Always make sure to treat the replacement water with a good water conditioner and make sure the temp is equal to or just a bit warmer than your aquarium's.

With a little more info, I'm sure we'll be able to solve your problem.

Best wishes!
Karen~
