Question
are parrot fish and goldfish compatible

Answer
Hi Jill,
While they *might* could live together, I'm not sure if either fish would truly thrive. Either the parrots will hog all the food and bully the goldfish. Or it will  be the other way around. Parrot fish each have their own personality so that's difficult to determine. While they'd be a pretty combo the goldfish do appreciate room temps and parrots are tropicals thriving at around 76-80F.

Not to say its impossible just know you'd have to be prepared to make sure both species are getting the right amount of and the right type of food. Neither are getting bullied and keep it at a neutral temp of around 76F or so. Goldfish can tolerate warmer temps well but its just not the most ideal for them.

Overall goldfish typically do best with just other goldfish. Parrots can be kept with a broad range of tropical fish and even some peaceful south american cichlids.

I hope this helps and best of luck!
Karen~
