Goldfish-Ich

I had two goldfish in a 20 gallon tank, a telescope eye and an oranda. The telescope got sick with ich, so the oranda started picking he ich off the telescope. We treated the tank for it with an ich medicine, but unfortunately she still didn't make it. But I was wondering if the oranda will get sick from eating the ich?

Hi Kim,

The Oranda cannot get Ich by eating it, however, Ich is highly contagious, and your Oranda was likely infected with it as well. Monitor your Oranda carefully, to make sure that it does not have, or is recovered from Ich. You may want to continue the medication for another 3 days or so, just to make sure.
