Water temperature in Aquarium

I have a 60 gallon tank. What is the ideal water temperature? Is it ok if the water is very cold?

Hey Abigail,

There is no one perfect temperature. Depending on what is in your tank will determine what temperature you need.

for example:

Freshwater tropical (community) tanks - 76*F
Freshwater Cichlid tanks - 80*F
Freshwater Goldfish tanks - 65*F

Salt water tanks range from 55*F-80*F pending what life is in the tank as well!

If you feel your tank is too cold, a 100 watt heater will do the job. If your tank is too warm, chillers are available as well!
