Moving 3 gallon goldfish tank

Question
Hi David,
My office will be relocating and I am going to need to move my Eclipse System 3 fish tank. I currently have only one goldfish in the tank and I am wondering what the best way to move him is? We are relocating on a Friday but I will not have access to my new office until Monday - I am going to have to take the fish home over the weekend. I have read places that suggest placing the fish in a plastic container and emptying the aquarium completely and cleaning it. Others suggest removing 2/3 of the water and just carrying the entire fish tank. You have given me great advise in the past - what would you suggest?
Thanks for your help,
Shelley

Answer
never transport a fish in its tank... Tanks can come apart because they are not made to withstand the weight of the water that they hold.  I would put him in small container, drain the tank into three separate bags and then take the tank, the fish, and the water home wit you. Use the original water to fill up the tank then repeat when it is time to move into the new office... dave
