Question
i have ordinary gold fish in my tank with shark.... my question is how to identify gold fish as male or female...how many times feeding is required for a day... does aquarium heater is wanted or not...

Answer
Dear Shanmugam,
Differentiating between males and females in goldfish is very difficult and impossible, unless it is spawning season which usually happens during the spring time. Males develop small white spots on their gill covers as a sign of their readiness to spawn and females become very round and plump with eggs.

Goldfish naturally tend to pick and forage all day long for food so it's best to feed them at least 3 small meals a day. Include plenty of variety in their diet and make sure to do frequent large water changes and you will have very happy goldfish!
Goldfish can thrive at such a wide range of temperatures that a heater is not needed. Even fancy goldfish and ordinary ones can thrive at temperatures from 65-75 F.

I really hope this helps answer your questions and feel free to write with anymore concerns Shanmugam!

Best wishes,
Karen
