1/4 inch orange swimming worms

Question
I was scared about the critters on the glass and then just read about how they are harmless. Wierd though. I deep vacuum my 50 gallon once a week and do at least a 35% water change. I also feed my fish only what they will eat. I geuss that doesn't matter, I got an Oscar! lol
Anyway to the question.
After I did my deep vacuum and 50% water change I spotted some worm like creatures swimming in a figure eight fashion.
They are about 1/4 inch in length and are an orange like color.(I am partially color blind so it could be something near that shade.)
When I looked very closely when they were near the glass I saw inscissors coming out of their mouths.
I am concerned for my fish and need to know if these guys need to be rid of.
They also burrow deep into the gravel.
PLease help.

Answer
Hi Mike;

Yuck! I would suspect planaria, but they don't have the appearance of your critters. Planaria are usually a whitish cream color and just wiggle once in awhile when floating in the water.

You might post this question to the freshwater forum and see who might know. It's a new one to me!!!
