Question
My new tank is a 29 gallon with a 100watt heater, 17 watt bulb, with ample plants and a nice quarts rock. Oh yhea and an Angel Fish/ the other had to be brought back to its original tank. Fin Nipper. Anyway when should i start water changes on my tank.  I have aquired 3 gallons from my fathers tank that is already aclimated and a gallon from the store.  Also i have treated the water to help aclimate this tank.  The only change i have done is to take out a half gallon to make up for the rock i put in.  Your Guidance would help alot THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your question, I'll try to help:

It would be better if you got some of your fathers gravel and put it into your tank, would speed up the cycle. Transport it wet.

Take your time on this new tank, no new fish for at least a month. I would start doing a 20% water change every other week after it's been running for 5 weeks.

Hope this helps.
