HELP! is my flowerhorn pregnant or sick?

good day! i have a 1 year & 5 month old flowerhorn. I do not know if it is a female or male. I never had problems with her/him...not until 2 days ago when i noticed a white thing protruding from her/his anus. i am worried about my Flowerhorn..She/he did not lose appetite and still moves a lot. i cannot see any difference with how she acts before and now..except of course the white thing from the anus. her belly also looks bulgy. i fear that she/he has some kind of intestinal parasite or something because of the bulge and the white thing on the anus.

Can my flowerhorn lay eggs even if it never had contact with another flowerhorn? If yes, Would those eggs be viable or not? what should i do to take care of my fish? i wanted to have baby flowerhorns but i do not know how to breed and what is the best time to breed/mate them plus i do not have a partner for my flowerhorn yet.  

I hope you could enlighten me because i am so worried about my fish. Thank you very much and more power!

Hello Tarra: Lets start by attempting to sex your fish.  Look at the anal pore.  The male has a V shaped anal pore while the female has a U shaped anal pore.  It is possible that you have a female and she is about to lay eggs... even though there is not a male around to fertilize them. The eggs would not be viable without a male to fertilize them.  If you have figure out what sex your fish is... then lets talk about breeding your fish... In the mean time keep an eye on your fish and see what happens with his/her Anus...  dave
