Filter (fluval 304)

Hi, just wondering if the hose on the 304 can be too long thus not causing suction of water into the canister?  I bought a new hose and didn't cut it and my filter will not cycle water.

Yes, the hose could be too long. When replacing filter parts, it's always best to buy the part specifically designed for your filter, rather than a universal or generic part. Also check inside the filter and the intake and return flow hoses to make sure there isn't a clog somewhere blocking the flow.
