Green and Red Terrors

Question
Can a green terror and a red terror co-exist in a tank together?

Answer
Hi Mike

Well, anything's possible lol.  I have to say, I don't think it's a good idea though.  A true red terror is extremely aggressive, so much so that they sometimes won't get along with a breeding mate.  GT get to about 8 inches, RT about 12-15 inches.

If you do try it(which I still don't recommend lol), I'd say nothing less then a 100 gallon aquarium to start.  Be sure there's lots of plants, caves, hidey holes for them(mostly the GT) to stake out their territory.

I'd also be sure to get both fish when they're small, and at the same time.  Sometimes odd combinations will get along when they grow up together.

I had a red devil/midas with an oscar.  They grew up together, no problems, they were buds.  My tank sprung a leak, had to get a new one quick.  Put them in, and all heck broke lose lol.  The red devil was taking over the tank, and beating up my poor oscar real bad. I ended up making a divider until I could get another tank to seperate them.  So keep in mind, if for what ever reason you need to rehome them, or change something out, it may make it aggressive all of a sudden.

Hope that helps, and good luck!!
