Question
Hi, i don't know where to turn... there's not vets around here that take care of fish.  I have had this betta since march... he was doing fine until early december. It started with a white ring on his dorsil fin, i think it was fin rot and i treated it.. it regrew and then the white ring moved elsewhere .  Now there's another white circle the size of my fingernail on his head and he just looks horrible... I have tried jungle fungus treatment, and ick gone.  Nothing is helping my betta. I am changing the water constantly with spring water.  it's just getting worse... I can't euthanize him.. i don't have it in me.. please help me! It's not velvety or cottony .. and its not small white spots.. just white where his blue was.

Answer
It sounds like he has a fungus and its pretty aggressive. I would advice getting a different treatment and seeing if that works. Also, stop changing the water so often, this may be contributing to the stress. Change the water weekly unless needed for the treatment. Always follow the directions for the treatment including the water changes. Other than getting another treatment I am not sure what you could do. Sometimes the disease or parasite is just too strong to be killed and the fish just cannot make it. All you can do is treat it again. Also, try not to stress the fish out too much. You could also ask another experts as they may have a better idea of something you can do. It is never fun to have a sick pet. I hope I have helped and if not hopefully some other experts can help. Best of luck to you and your fish. Let me know if you need anything else.
