hole in head disease

what would make an oscar keep hole in the head after good water filter right temp and meds. I cant seem to get my favorit fish better. what can I do.

Hello,

Hole in the head is caused by bacteria and water factors we can't see or change, assuming your levels of nitrites and ammonia are ok. Nitrites and ammonia would worsen the problem and make it harder to get rid of.

If the meds seem to not be working, don't give up! Sometimes it takes two or three treatment cycles to help completely. You can also back your medicine up with aquarium salt, which should help.
