Question
I got a question about the whole cycle thing.
My cousin told that i should have bacteria in my aquarium that would turn the ammonia in my tank into nitrite then turn nitrite into nitrate then change the water by 50% to complete the cycling process. But i got a question about how to create a needed amount of ammonia in my tank for the cycling process to take place. Isn't there anything that i can add to the aquarium to create that needed amount of ammonia????????????????????????????????

Answer
you can add just plain 100% ammonia from a drugstore (no dyes, fragrance or soaps)...fish food...or use a hardy fish (worst situation).  If you wanted to instantly cycle a tank and have fish right away you can take an established tank's filter and cut a small part of it off and put it in your filter, or do squeezings from the old filter over your filter every couple of days.   You could also add biospira to your tank.  This way you can put a few fish in right away (not too many) The fish will then produce ammonia and keep the cycle going.  As you keep getting 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite and under 10ppm nitrate, you slowly add more fish every couple of weeks.
