Millions of tiny bubbles

Question
I just upgraded to a 55g tank.  Cleaned and added new gravel and added water (declorinated).  This was done at night so I left the rest for this morning.  This morning I found millions of tiny bubbles all over the inside of the tank.(glass and gravel)  I've never had this happen before with my other tank. Is this of concern?

Answer
Hi Pat,

Take your filter apart, and then put it back together. What you are experiencing is called microbubbles, and it can be irritating to fish - it's kind of like taking a bath in seltzer water! It happens because air is trapped in the filter. It is most common with canister filters, it happens often with my Magnum hang-on back filter. Often just taking the filter apart and putting it back together will help.

If this doesn't solve the problem, read more online. Type:
microbubbles aquarium
into Google.com and see how others have dealt with this.

Best of luck, and enjoy your new aquarium!
