Question
I Have 5 platies, 2 mollies, 3 hi-fin tetras, 1 guppy.
one of my platies gave birth on the first week since I had them, to 7 babies in my count but only saved 6 of them. I have them in a breeding net and I want to know if i can let the babies out when their only 1 and a half in. big. I am worried that the others would eat them. But my tank is only 16in. long and not alot of space for the others to swim in so I want to know if I can.

Answer
If the babies are at least half an inch long they should be ok. However, you should add something in the tank for them to hide in. Also, watch them closely right after you release them to make sure no one is quickly drawn to picking on them. Also, check on them periodically as sometimes a fish will begin to pick on the fish after a while of them being in the tank. Just make sure they are at least half an inch but preferrably closer to an inch and add some hiding spots and watch them closely. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
