Question
If you know about Stress Coat I would like to know how much to add. The instructions say: "To Help Repair Damaged Skin and Fins & Replace Slime Coating: add two teaspoons for each 10 gallons of aquarium water". If your tank is 15 gallons do I add two or three teaspoons since the five gallons is 1/2 of 10. I read on a discussion forum about someone saying it keeps fish from getting sick. Is this true? If not what can I add to my aquarium to keep my fish from getting sick? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Dipan,
Its best not to worry because you can't really overdose stress coat or any water conditioners. I always like to be extra careful and add a little bit extra water conditioner because I never know what they are adding to my water. They may be adding extra chlorine or there may be a lot of heavy metals in the water. So adding a little bit more than suggested is best. I personally use 1/4 a teaspoon per gallon. You can easily use three teaspoons for your 15 gallon. It won't hurt.
I've used stress coat for years and never had trouble from it.

Water changes are the most important thing you can do for your fish to keep them from getting sick. As well as feeding a varied healthy diet and avoiding overfeeding.

Best wishes!
