Marine Startup from Freshwater

Hi Lee,
I have an established freshwater tank and would like to startup a marine tank. Can I use the bacteria from my established freshwater tank to speed up the cycling of my new marine tank?

No you can not use the bacteria from your freshwater tank for your marine tank. The best way to go about this is to find someone who has an established tank and get 1/2 cup to a cup of their crushed coral and water for your tank as this will help your new tank cycle. Happy fish keeping!!!
