newbie needs help?????

i have a 10 gall fish taink i want to git running i have everything but the fish. im thinking a cuple of silver dollers or angle fish and  a fue red tail sharks. but what would you reckamend? i dont like things small like zebra fish but becouse i only have a 10 gall i cannot have eney thing big eather. and how many of the fish can i have in my taink it is an octogon and i would say it is taller than round but im not shure. im not intrested in fry so i need to know how to sex them and witch sex is better to.

Unfortunately the fish you are interested are not going to do well in your tank at all. Most likely will not survive a long period of time. With a 10 gallon you are somewhat limited to smaller fish. A good rule of thumb is one inch of fish (adult size) per gallon. Of course this rule can be broken but will require more work on your part to make sure the water chemistry stays where it needs to be. Once you decide on a fish I may be able to help you sex them, some are not as easy to sex. As far as not wanting fry...if you do have fry and they do not get seperated they usually become a snack for the fish in the tank and almost none will survive. Best of luck and happy fish keeping.
