Question
How do I set up a tank for a small back fin shark?  Do I need a heater for my tank? And how do I set up to check the ph balance of the water, do I need equiptment for that as well?

Answer
Hi Ann Marie,

Black fin sharks require a fairly large open tank.  They are fast swimmers and need some long spaces to swim in.

They do require a heater and plan on about 5 watts per gallon of water in the tank.

You shouldn't have to worry about pH so I wouldn't bother getting that tested unless you have problems.

Make sure to cycle the tank before adding many fish to the tank.  Here is a good article on the nitrogen cycle: http://www.aquaria.info/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=376
