freshwater nitrites while cycling

Question
What can I safely use to keep nitrites down while cycling a 29 gallon tank with 5fish? Nitra/Zorb not working water change does nothing. Please save my fish

keep feeding to a minimum,use a product like "Cycle"...if you do water changes only do 2-3 gals as to do more will feed the system and it wont cycle..
if you have annother tank or know someone who does, and its healthy, get an old filter cartridge and put it in your filter, it will be charged with good guy bacteria and will speed the process along.
Tank should cycle thru in about 5-10 days...
levels should drop, but then will creep up a little again, then drop and stay dropped...
