Question
QUESTION: Two quetions, 1 If i feed newly hatched brine shrimp into a 65 gallon tank with 3 fully grown angel fish, would they be too small? should I let them grow a bit? 2 can sword tails and platys cross breed? I know that sword tails are hybrids of platys soo i was just wondering. thanks -ryan out

ANSWER: Hi Ryan,
Newly hatched brine shrimp is way too small for Angel fish.  Newly hatched brine shrimp look like dust in the water and sometimes the fish fry barely even see it.  Its better if you feed them adult brine shrimp rather then newly hatched.

Swordtails and Platys are 2 different species of fish, swordtails are not hybrids of platys.  But they can cross breed.  If there are  a few of each in a tank they prefer to breed with each other, but occasionally, I do see hybrid fry, because they grow up with a totally different pattern along with a shorter "sword" if its a male.

QUESTION: How long should i let the brine shrimp grow? do I have to feed the brine shrimp?

Answer
It would be inconvenient to grow them to the appropriate size.  I have never breed and cared for brine shrimps before, but I do believe they require salt water to grow.  I believe it would be better to buy frozen adult brine shrimp if you want to feed your angels brine shrimp.  And no, you do not have to feed angel fish brine shrimp.  It is usually for a treat.  They will take any flake and pellet food.  They love live foods also, you can try feeder ghost shrimp from local fish stores.  They are usually 12-25 cents per pop.
