female beta fish is fat

I've had 2 past beta fish both boys. Now I have a girl She has been fat for a while. I cleaned the tank before I put her in. I've feed her the same food as the others But none of them have gotten fat like her.

Hi Emily,
Most likely your betta girl is fat from eggs. Sometimes when female bettas are getting really good care, they will go in spawning condition and swell with eggs. She will likely just reabsorb the eggs since its unlikely she will get to lay them.

Also, female bettas in general tend to be chubbier than the boys. ;-)
