Aeration problems

Question
Hello,
I recently have had some trouble regarding the aeration in my tank. I currently have a 20 gallon tank with one of the filters that hangs on the back. I also had an air pump with the tubing that goes in with a wand for blowing bubbles in the tank. this is how I keep the water clear with the aeration. So, my wands were always getting clogged and would produce alot of bubbles in the beginning, then after a week or two die down. I would go out and purchase a new one and have been doing this for awhile. Finally, the fish store said you shouldnt have to be replacing them like that. I then bought a Whisper 30 for the tank, they thought maybe replacing the air pump would work. It did at first, but now again, it is a week later and ive lose the bubbles again. They are barely there. I can't seem to figure out what is going on, whether it is the tubing, the pump, or the wand. Can you help please?

Thank you in advance for your help.
Heather

Answer
Hello Heather,

First off its a good thing to use clear tubing so you can see if some thing is plugging it up. This could slow down if you dont have a pump suitible for a tank that is 20 gallons. If both of those seem to be fine or big enough then it would be a problem with the wand. Is there any algae growing on the wand of any sort? or any other growth you see on the wand?

Please send me a follow up with these answers so I can further assist you.
