male molly acting weird

i have 2 mollies 1 male and one female my male molly has his top fin up alot and swims around the female molly like 3 or 4 times and he his always around her can you tell me what this means

Hi Joe... sounds like your male Molly is trying to catch the females eye... keep your eye on them as you may be expecting Molly fry in about 6-8 weeks....  Also keep your eye on the female. You want to make sure the male is not bullying her to the point where she gets stressed because a stressed fish will likely become ill.  dave
