eggs?

my sanail laid these eggs or somthing on the top of my tank..and i was looking up about it and i saw that the discription was thtat it is eggs..so i have a light on my tank and the eggs are very close 2 it..do i leave the light on or off..it layed them when it was off but i was wondering if it would affect it any ways....i thought it would..

Hi Beth;

I doubt the light would affect them. When the snails lay their eggs outdoors in ponds the sun hits them and they seem to be fine. Here is a web site about the type of snails that lay eggs above water. They are called "Apple Snails".
