power head

Our 30 gal. tank has been up about 2 1/2 weeks. This time around we bought a power head for 20-40 gal. tanks. (no dial to turn it down) It seems to me to be too much for the fish. They never seem to rest. They seem to race up the stream, let it push them back and start over again. We have 3 mollies, 6 zebra danios, 2 cats for the bottom, & 1 black/grey red finned "shark".

I'm not sure what your question is but with the situation you describe I would if possible take back the power head causing the issue and find one that has a dial or have the employee at the store assist you in locating one with a dial on the power head to control its output.
