QuestionI have a Black Moor. I think he has some issues... His dorsal fin seems to have some sort of white blister looking disease and he seems to be having a hard time swimming down. He floats a lot on the top of the tank...sometimes I think he is dead. Then he swims to the bottom and float back to the top. Now he doesn't even use his dorsal fin to swim.
I don't really know what his/her problem is, maybe some advice would be nice.
AnswerHi Sara,
The white spot may be an injury that will eventually heal on its own. I don't think he needs any medication at this point at least. I've observed many fish develop little white bumps on their fins that is often a situation where an individual fin ray has been bent or otherwise damaged. Just keep a close eye on it and make sure your Black Moor has very clean water through frequent partial water changes and is getting a varied, balanced diet.
But otherwise, your Black Moor's swimming issue is whats called "Swim bladder disorder" a very common condition in fancy goldfish breeds.
Please read here for more info and advice on this!

I do hope this helps and best of luck!!!
