Question
My question is that every time I have baby mollies. They live to be a week old then they start dieing. So what can I do to stop this and make some of my babies grow up and be healthy.

Answer
Hi,
The adult Mollies will eat the fry (babies) so you must put the fry into a breeding net/box until they are too big to be eaten (around 2cm in length). Feed them a mixture of liquifry, baby brine shrimp and crushed flake food. If you feed them just one of these they will not be getting the proper nourishment and will either not grow, or will simply die.

Unless your water is perfect, and you have no nitrite or ammonia in your water, they will probably die. If you do not already have test kits, I recommend you buy 2 for ammonia and nitrite. If they are over 0.0, do a 40 percent water change.
Even if they are 0.0, do 20 percent water changes every 2 days for a few weeks starting when the fry are born.

Good luck,
Kathryn
