Question
My black moor has 7 white-ish patches on it, one on each eye, one on each front fin and 3 on the underneath of his head. They don't look like white spot, they look a sort of fungus or something. I'm a complete beginner with fish, so I haven't got a clue!

Answer
Hi Vicki:

Sounds like you fish have fungal infection. I would treat them with a good fungal medication that you can find at your local pet store. Also take them a sample of water so that they can test your water chemistry.  General Cure or Fungal Cure are two medications that should help your fish.  What are you feeding your goldfish? What other tank mates do you have besides the black moor?  is it eating???  let me know... dave
