Question
Hi, I just got a 10 gallon tank and I'm getting 6 Tiger Barbs in it, but i also want Dwarf Gouramis (maybe 1 or 2), I have a 30 gallon tank where the Dwarf Gouramis would go fine with the other fish but I'm afraid of overstocking, so I'm just curious if the Dwarf Gouramis would go good with the Tiger Barbs?

Answer
My first thought would be no; however, you coul purchase one dwarf gourami and try it. Place the fish in the tank and if the tigers do not fight with it in 1 or 2 hours, it should be fine. If they fight, simply move the dwarf to the big tank, one tiny fish will not throw it off too much. Also, its never a good idea to have more than one male gourami in a tank at once, so to be safe I would just get one dwarf. Tiger barbs are very aggressive and are usually kept in species only tanks. Although, if the gourami's do not work, I would suggest trying bala sharks or maybe a rainbow fish. However, be very cautious. It is not impossible to have other fish with tigers but it just needs to be approached cautiously. I would suggest trying the gourami. I would say it is likely to work. Just keep a close eye on them. Let me know if you need more help or have more questions. I hope this helps.
