Question
Hello,

I recently purchased some ballon mollies. My mollies have been mating like crazy!! The male will not touch the other fish but fell in love the new fish. I want to know how long after mating can I expect fry??

I am a teacher and will go out for spring break. Should I purchase an automatic feeder or drop one of those tables that feeds the fish for a week?? I read that those ruin the set up of your tank.

Thanks in advance

Answer
Hello Jeanette:  I prefer the tablets over the automatic feeders... its natures attempt at comedy when the automatic feeder stops working while you are away... at least with the tables the food is in the tank.  you should expect fry in about six weeks... plus or minus a week for size, and age, etc.  You will want to have several large clumps of java moss or java fern in the tank so the mothers and other fish do not eat the babies.... it is best to remove the mother.... before she delivers... and then once she delivers to put the mother back in the community tank... hope this helps... dave
