Question
I just got back from Galveston and I have a lot of brackish clams that we found. I have a brackish tank (55gal) with sand. I was wondering HOW do I keep the clams alive? I have added them slowly and most "close up" and wont move. any suggestions?!
Thank you!

Answer
Hi JD,

Place your clams in the same water salinity that they came from with the same type of atmosphere.  Don't try to make them saltwater or fresh.  They will always be brackish.

Be considerate to put them in the same temperature.

They will come out if conditions are right.

I watch my mussels and clams as indicators of tank conditiosns.

Happy fish-keeping.
