My guppy...

QUESTION: I don't know what is wrong with it, I noticed it's gotten very fat, and yesterday it was just hovering right under the water line, and today, before I left for school it was just sitting on the bottom corner of the tank opening and closing it's mouth rapidly, it was also moving it's fins like it was trying to move.

Hello Casandra:  Does it look like its scales are standing away from its body... kind of like a pine cone?  Have you had the water tested to see if the chemicals are within normal levels?  I would do a small water change on his tank.  He may have a disease called Dropsy... He may also have an intestinal blockage. If he looks kind of like a pine cone then He has dropsy... Dropsy is usually fatal.  If you are unsure you maybe can take him to a fish store so that someone there can look at him and tell you.  Keep me posted... dave
